A Walk Back into History Part 2: A Birthday Bash at Malacca

Well, following an adventurous sight-seeing afternoon in the Malaysian historical state of Malacca, our gang (cheryl, jojo, shasha, rain and me) returned to the hotel, where we are going to stay the night. The hotel was a traditional, comfortable little place (thanks to cheryl). Oh, no! I forgot the name again :(

After much talk about how we are going to celebrate jojo's b'day, we all agreed to have a little party at Secret Recipe. Hmmmm! We all rested for a while and freshened up later around 5pm.
Then we were off to visit the beach area of Malacca. I was excited. Going to see a Malaysian beach is a first for me. Woo hoo!

Cheryl drove us to some sea-side hotel which led to a nice beach. No offence, but it wasn't as fascinating as beaches in Maldives. Nevertheless, I was excited. We clicked snapshots in every possible pose. Haha!

Then we went for a stroll along the beach. quite literally, we walked along the whole stretch of the beach. The sun was setting. So we took the opportunity to snap more pictures. Jojo tried horse riding. We just cheered her up.

It was getting dark. On the way back, the others decided to have dinner at some place beside the beach. They all wanted to eat grilled fish. I declined. Why? Because I don't like fish. Oooh! Yeah, I pretend to be allergic to fish and seafood. But don't tell anyone, I just have a very personal grudge against fish and sefood. :D

So I just had a drink. Okay, okay..a Coke!!! Others just dig in. Whoa! It was cool to watch them all eat with such enthusiasm. Wonderful!

What's up next? We drove to some shopping mall. Remember Secret Recipe?? Jojo's B'day Plan? Cheryl and me decided to suprize her. So I asked jojo to accompany me to a shop while cheryl and the others bought cakes from SR and sneaked them into the car without jojo's knowledge. Only once cheryl smsed me, I returned to SR with jojo. Then we ate. Correction! Only I ate. Since others already had their grilled-fish-dinner, they just muched a little. Finally, we drove back to the hotel, where we plan to have the b'day bash!

Back in the hotel! Jojo went to the bathroom. It was the perfect opportunity for us to suprize her. Right? So we took a piece of cake and lit a candle on it. While we worked on it, we were also holding the knob of the bathroom since jojo is trying to come out. We put out all the lights and let go off the door knob just in time to shout HAPPY B' DAY! She was totally suprized, of course!
After exchanging gifts and gulping much cakes later, we decided to watch hindi movies!

Oh, did I tell you that I brought my DVD player? Oh yes! Cheryl and jojo specially asked me to. Hehe. So we watched "Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham". But halfway into the movie Shasha dozed off. :) And poor Rain! Since even the subtitles are not in English (bless him) he went back to sleep. LOL Cheryl aslo slept after a while. Since me and jojo have watched the movie numerous times, we changed to "Salaam Namaste", my fav hindi movie :D I went to sleep on;y after watching the movie and having a good laugh...

In the morning, Cheryl went to Church since it was a sunday. The rest of us freshened up and packed before Cheryl came so that we can check out. Today we planned to go to the Portuguese Settlements. Whoa! The place where portuguese settled in M'sia during the occupation. Woo!
I can't wait. If you have read the first part, you'll know why. Okay! So we checked out! Cheryl drove us to the settlements. Unfortunately, the museum was closed. Maybe for renovation! My bad luck! But I was lucky enough to spot some Cheryl Dennis Pinto lookalikes whom I took for her relatives! Wonder whether she had ever been there? Mental note: Ask her!

There ends a memorable journey to Malacca. On the way back home, Cheryl, Jojo, and Shasha bought some stuff for their moms I guess. We bought McD food from a McD drivethru and had breakfast in the car. Cheryl drove. The rest slept.
