A Place Called Mamak

Ice Lemon Tea, please?

That was what I ordered as soon as I was seated at college mamak today. Heck, that's what I order every day =)

The waiter nodded and went away.

Then...

COMPLETE IGNORANCE for 5 or so minutes.

Irritated, I beckoned some other guy and asked politely, Ice Lemon Tea please?

Nod and went away.

IGNORED again.

I sat looking around mamak, others being served, me being left out as if I don't even exist. Do I have to wear flourescent green t-shirt and a multi-colour hat or something to get attention? Or do I have to cover myself with huge flowers/leaves/animal skin? Anything to get served normally, huh? Yeah, right!

I might as well carry a bell to ring whenever I need their service, as Shaz suggested later.

I was totally outraged.

Hello, I am just a loyal customer.

What's going on?

During the 45 minutes I waited for Shaz to join me, I have beckoned 5 different waiters and asked for Ice Lemon Tea 5 times.

5 BLOODY TIMES.

Every time that nod. And later, complete ignorance.

I was so frustrated at this point of time.

And what happened next made me almost shout at top of my voice with frustration? A waiter, who I have already asked for my Ice Lemon Tea earlier, came upto these two lovely girls who just sat beside me and took their orders. He was back with their orders as soon as he left.

And I still haven't recieved mine.

I came first, I sat there first and I ordered first. And they don't have the courtesy to notice that I have ordered an innocent drink of Ice lemon tea for like 5 times?

Arrrgh!

I gave up, irritated, frustrated, annoyed, mad, and angry. All emotions at once.

If its not for Shaz, who joined me after like 45 minutes of waiting at mamak, I still won't have even get to catch a glimpse of my drink.

So much for an Ice Lemon Tea, don't you think?
